9-Lives
A while ago, I started developing and preparing a project called 9-Lives a storytelling and friendly art competition. And now it’s finally happening!
Nine artists will each receive a randomly assigned name. Using that name, they’ll create an artwork inspired by the name potentially with a story and lore surrounding it
All creations will be presented at Hub (a creative hotspot for food, art, and culture) on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 PM. That evening, both the audience and a jury will choose the winner.
This project has been made possible with support from the Municipality of Zaanstad and the art organization Tengel, a big thank you to both! Several Tengel members are also among the participating artists.
25 october, the artists met at DeLangeStudio to receive their assigned names, where I also photographed each of them for promotional purposes.
So for now, here are the artist. with their names. Stay tuned, I’ll keep you updated as the project unfolds!
Recently- TextUur
On Saturday, March 29th, the final presentation of TextUur took place at DeLangeStudio, a unique art experiment made possible by the municipality of Wormerland. Over the past month, five duos, each consisting of a writer and a visual artist, worked closely together to create a collaborative artwork. The results were unveiled in a special presentation for both a public audience and a jury. The participating duos were:
Each presentation was unique. After much deliberation, the jury and audience awarded the top prize to Mike de Vos and Kleine Marco, whose work stood out for its emotional depth and compelling delivery. They were presented with a specially created artwork by Leon van Wijk. We look back on a fantastic afternoon, with a great turnout, inspiring conversations, and even a feature in the Noord-Hollands Dagblad newspaper. Many thanks to all participants, visitors, and supporters.
